TWO WOMEN SAVED FROM FIRE BY WILDLIFE AGENTS On Saturday morning, December 16, 2000, at about 6:15 a.m., Wildlife Enforcement Agents Lieutenant Larry Breaux and Sergeant Malcolm Hebert were working southeast of Holmwood on Fruge Road in Calcasieu Parish. Lt. Breaux observed flames erupting through the roof of a house trailer, which had two vehicles parked near it. Sgt. Hebert contacted communications via radio to notify 911 to call out the local fire department, while Lt. Breaux beat on the door of the trailer and yelled to wake up any occupants in the trailer. Smoke billowed out the door when a woman opened the door. Lt. Breaux told her that the house trailer was on fire. Immediately, two women and pets emerged from the trailer just in time. The house trailer was completely engulfed in flames within five minutes and it was completely destroyed. A 250 gallon butane tank was located near the house trailer, but it did not erupt because of the professional work of the fire department.
