PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Hello friends, Welcome to the fall issue of The Louisiana Game Warden magazine. I want to thank the Agents of Region 7 and Headquarters for the outstanding job done coordinating our 2001 Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association conference that was held this past July. I know from experience what an effort it takes to ensure that a conference is successful. I must say that this year’s was one of the most well organized and enjoyable I have ever attended. The Association has made a major decision concerning our magazine, The Louisiana Game Warden. We have decided to bring the magazine “in-house”. We will no longer use the services of our former publisher and advertising solicitor. The Association will be responsible for producing our own magazine. This means that the Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association will receive 100% of the funds generated from our magazine. I believe there are few other organizations that can say the same. The L.W.A.A. is very proud to be at this stage with our magazine. We look forward to the continued success of our magazine throughout the future. I want to thank everyone who supports this magazine. The advertisers are our “life-blood” without a doubt. Now, more than ever, we need their continued dedication and support. However, the agents who write the articles and submit the photographs make the magazine a reality. We are very proud to say that our articles are written by the agents. There is no one else who could tell the world who we are and what we do. To those who regularly participate, please continue. If you have never written an article before, give it a try! You will experience a new feeling of pride when you see your words in print. The Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association appreciates your support. Sincerely, Lt. Alan Bankston, President Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association
