Vice President's Message
At the writing of this message, we are in final preparation for the Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association annual conference to be held in the city of Baton Rouge. This year our conference will be hosted by the Region 4 Enforcement Agents. Everyone knows the amount of work that is put into these events for them to be a success. Hours of planning, running around and phone calls are phenomenal. Each Region that hosts these events is to be commended for the extra effort. This year at the conference our top priority will be the election of our executive board. Before considering candidacy, one must remember that countless hours are dedicated each month to the responsibilities of the LWAA. Extra responsibilities take energy, dedication and some sacrifices due to the fact that we all have full time jobs being game wardens. Lt. Alan Bankston can attest to this. The even numbered regions will also be electing new board members for the up coming year. The conference will be full of activities, and again guys thanks for hosting such an important event. On another note, we are in full summer mode at present. Numerous boaters have taken to the waterways for recreation and we must keep safety of utmost importance. Accidents ruin good times. The LWAA T-shirt program is once again underway, and I would like to say thanks to all of our supporters for making this great program a success. Agents will be handing out T-shirts statewide while out patrolling to children who are caught wearing life jackets while boating. This message promotes safety and is also a great public relations tool that creates awareness. David Flattmann from Southern Graphics in Chalmette is to be commended for the excellent job that he did designing and preparing the shirts in a timely manner. Thanks David for a job well done. In our next issue of The Louisiana Game Warden magazine, you will probably see some new faces from our staff that will be adding energy, new ideas and lots of effort to the future of the LWAA. We once again appreciate the support from the public and all who contribute to this magazine to make it a success. |
